Nine has named its brand partners for cross-platform juggernaut Love Island Australia for the 2022 season.
The fourth season, which is being filmed on the Spanish island of Mallorca, will see Le Tan, Oporto, Cashrewards and Spotify join the show as Australia’s hottest singles find love.
Premiering exclusively on 9Now, with episodes then dropping nightly from Monday to Thursday and also available later each evening on 9Go!, the Love Island Australia sponsors will be part of one of the world’s most irresistible formats with a demographic audience of almost exclusively 16-39 year olds.
“Love Island Australia will once again deliver something unique in the Australian broadcast landscape for our commercial partners,” said Sarah Stewart, Director of Content Partnerships and Client Experience.
“With this season’s episodes streaming on 9Now before linear, Love Island Australia is without a doubt, the most effective way for brands to reach the hard-to-find demographic of 16-39. And with this season featuring a knockout cast and a stunning Mallorcan villa, we know the show will keep audiences engaged, and we couldn’t be happier with the incredible brands that have jumped on board.”
In 2022, Cashrewards will have a branded challenge within the series and have ownership of the first night of the Hideaway. Le Tan will be seen throughout the series in-show as the official supplier of sunscreen and tanning products, and Oporto is also taking out a major partnership, running a series of bespoke Love Island Australia ads featuring founder Antonio Cerquiera. Meanwhile Spotify will provide the official Love Island Australia playlist on its platform.

The combined wealth of the 100 richest young Australians aged 40 and under has fallen 27 percent during the past 12 months to a four year low of $30 billion, reveals the Financial Review 2022 Young Rich List released in full tomorrow.
Collective wealth of top 100 Young Rich Listers aged 40 or under falls by 27 percent to $30 billion, down from $41 billion from last year.
Canva co-founders Melanie Perkins and Cliff Obrecht are #1 and #2 on the Young Rich List worth $13.7 billion, down from $16.5 billion.
Musicians Tones & I and Vance Joy debut on the Young Rich List, with Tones & I worth $35 million and Vance Joy worth $40 million.
Daniel Ricciardo is Australia’s richest sports star under 40, worth $156 million, while Chris Hemsworth is the nation’s wealthiest young actor worth $162 million.
Miranda Kerr remains the richest public figure under 40, with a wealth pile of $173 million, up from $124 million.
With valuations of technology companies falling as interest rates rise, Australia’s richest young entrepreneurs have collectively lost $11 billion from the value of their companies. Some $3 billion of that has been struck from the estimated fortune held by Canva co-founders Melanie Perkins, 35, and Cliff Obrecht, 36.
But it’s not all bad news for the couple, with the pair continuing their run at the top of the Young Rich List, with a combined wealth of $13.7 billion.
The 2022 Financial Review Young Rich List reveals the diverse ways the next generation of entrepreneurs are building their fortunes. Defying the downturn is burritos and nachos, which have been a winner for Sam Prince, 38. Growth at his Mexican restaurant chain Zambrero has lifted his wealth to $1.2 billion, up from $1.1 billion last year, to #3 on the Young Rich List.
“Prince is leading something of a comeback for traditional industries in this year’s edition,” said Rich List co-editor Michael Bailey. “Software makers are getting shoved aside by sportspeople, musicians and fashionistas, who were once the mainstays of the Young Rich List.”
Rich List co-editor Julie-anne Sprague said: “The technology sector had a reality check this year, with the lofty company valuations that underpinned their wealth tumbling as rising interest rates reset expectations for growth and sharpened investor focus on profitability.”
While wealth from tech is down, the start-up sector is still the best way to end up on the Young Rich List, with 29 entrepreneurs creating their riches in the technology field. But sport and entertainment has been lucrative during the past year, with 12 sports people on the list – including newcomers, golfer Cameron Smith ($37 million and #97 ); Perth baseballer Liam Hendriks ($48 million and #83 ) who scored a lucrative contract with the Chicago White Sox; and former Bankstown local Jordan Mailata ($49 million and #82) who now plays for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.
In entertainment, two Australian musicians setting the global stage alight – Tones & I, and Vance Joy – debut on the Young Rich List, thanks to their writing of hit songs for which they paid their own recording costs. Their hits have also increased in value due to their music being played more over streaming. Combined with a post-pandemic return to touring, Tones & I is worth $35 million (#98) while Vance Joy is worth $40 million (#96).
The Financial Review Young Rich List has tracked the wealth of Australia’s wealthiest people aged 40 and under since 2003. To qualify, Young Rich Listers must not have inherited their wealth. The entry point for this year’s list is $35 million, down from $36 million last year. This year’s debutants include Ed Craven, who hit headlines in August after he bought a Tookrak mansion for more than $88 million, setting a record for Melbourne real estate. He debuts at #5 with $1.1 billion thanks to his crypto online casino.
Miranda Kerr remains the richest public figure under 40, with a wealth pile of $173 million, up from $124 million to come in at #31. Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth, whose fitness app Centr was snapped up by the younger brother of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, increased his wealth by $57 million to $162 million (#37).
Australia’s wealthiest Young Rich sport star is F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo who despite not having a seat on the grid next year, is worth $156 million (#38), closely followed by Brooklyn Nets basketball star Ben Simmons, worth $144 million (#41).
But while sporting stars may be scoring financial goals, it’s been a very different game for many entrepreneurs in the buy-now-pay-later sector as well as cryptocurrencies. Afterpay co-founder Nicholas Molnar has lost nearly 60 percent of his wealth from $2.8 billion to $1.2 billion and slipped to #4. Meanwhile, the Warwick brothers – Kieran, Aaron and Grant – co-owners of a play-to-earn cryptocurrency game, have collectively seen their wealth plunge by 80%. Keiran saw his wealth plummet from $463 million last year to $93 million.

Premiering Monday, November 7, at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Australia’s hearts will be opened to a whole new world of grown-up love when My Mum Your Dad premieres Monday, November 7, at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Kate Langbroek presents this heartfelt dating series about single parents looking for love the second time around. What they don’t know is their adult children are secretly guiding them through the perils of modern dating.
Kate Langbroek said: “I’m properly excited for Australia to see this amazing new series, and see how brave and vulnerable these single parents are. To dare to dream and open their hearts to love again – and in the public arena – is incredibly courageous. There’s nobody that cares about your relationship more than your kids, because they enter the relationship too. In fact, they are the ones that often end up carrying the emotional baggage. So it’s pretty special that these kids are (secretly) helping their parents on their quest to find a connection. My Mum Your Dad is an extraordinary show, with humanity and vulnerability, humour and family love. It’s going to be an amazing new series to watch.”
The kids will go through different challenges for the power to determine who their parents go on a date with, and what they do on the date. These challenges involve hearing cringeworthy confessions about their parents, enduring spicy food and even an ice bath.
The childrens’ approval, or disapproval, is the ultimate test, and all emotions and thoughts will be revealed at the Blessing Ceremony in the finale.
Get ready to have your heartstrings pulled as these single parents find themselves in a raw and vulnerable position that their kids have never seen before.

MY MUM YOUR DAD MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7, AT 7.30PM ON CHANNEL 9 & 9NOW
More than $20 million worth of prime Aussie heartland will go under the hammer at The Block: Tree Change Grand Finale Auction, airing Sunday, November 6, at 7 O’Block on Channel 9 and 9Now.
In the biggest set of auctions the show has ever seen, five of our Blockhead couples, Tom and Sarah-Jane (Vic), Rachel and Ryan (NSW), Ankur and Sharon (Vic), Dylan and Jenny (Qld), and Oz and Omar (NSW), will find out if their back-breaking work, the freezing temperatures, and all that mud was worth it.
The couples have spent 12 weeks building 500-square metre homesteads complete with tennis courts, pools and even a winery on 10 acres of land each in Victoria’s Macedon Ranges – the biggest properties in Block history.
Host Scott Cam said this season’s move to the countryside was by far the most challenging thing the show has done in its 18-season run.
“This is by far the toughest season that I’ve ever worked on. We upped the ante with the biggest blocks ever, and very harsh country weather conditions,” he said.
“To their credit, our Blockheads have produced some stunning five-bedroom houses on 10 acres each – they’ve really built the country dream for five lucky Aussie families.
“Anything can happen on auction day, but we’re gunning for them to each take home some money. They all deserve it after this year’s slog.”
Domain National Managing Editor, Alice Stolz, said: The cool change that swept through Australia’s property market has resulted in a much more temperate spring. Interest rates are rising and house prices are softening – it’s undoubtedly a buyer’s market,” she said.
“What bodes well for The Block contestants is that renovated turnkey properties remain the more desired property type, with many buyers spooked by rising construction costs and significant delays for materials.
“All five teams have built what many Aussies dream of, and although it was an incredibly tough season, their greatest test will ultimately commence when the auction bell rings.”
The Block co-creator and Executive Producer, Julian Cress, said: “The houses our contestants have created are amongst the best homes The Block has ever offered for sale, but we’re selling more than 50 acres of property in one day in what’s proving to be a very volatile market. These factors mean we’re in for a nailbiting finale – it’s really anyone’s game.”
The all-important auction order and reserve prices will also be revealed on auction night. With Tom and Sarah-Jane winning six room reveals, they earned the right to decide the auction order, which could make or break the other Blockheads’ fortunes.
The auction order could have serious implications for the crowning of winners of The Block: Tree Change, who will take home a $100,000 cash prize on top of whatever profit their home makes above reserve on auction day.
Since premiering on Channel 9 in 2003, Australia’s richest reality program has awarded a total of $28,771,471 in prizemoney.

With Halloween approaching, it’s time for the return of the spooky horror series Chucky, premiering Thursday, October 27 at 5.00pm AEDT, on 9Now, fast-tracked and streaming exclusively for free for Australian audiences with weekly episodes.
Created by Don Mancini, who wrote all the Chucky films, the TV series is a continuation of the chilling film franchise chronicling the murderous escapades of the notorious killer doll.
The TV series follows the story of 14-year-old Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur), an artist-to-be obsessed with dolls. After buying a Good Guy doll in a yard sale, he discovers itl is possessed by the soul of fictional serial killer Charles Lee Ray (voiced by Brad Dourif). Chucky starts to commit murders around Jake’s hometown of Hackensack, New Jersey, turning it into a crime scene and leaving Jake to become the suspect.
Season two takes off where the first season ended, with Jake and his friends Devon and Lexy believing the possessed doll is gone, though still being haunted and hunted by the killer doll. The three of them are sent to a Catholic school, which happens to be the same place where Chucky grew up. After his diabolical plan to invade the children’s hospitals of America was foiled, Chucky has begun preparing an army of Good Guy dolls to seek revenge on those he holds responsible.
The core characters of season one return in the second series. As well as Zackary Arthur and Brad Dourif, the cast includes Björgvin Arnarson as Devon Evans, Alyvia Alyn Lind as Lexy Cross, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, Teo Briones as Junior Wheeler and Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany. There will also be new faces, including Lachlan Watson playing Glen/Glen, Chucky and Tiffany’s gender-fluid child.
