Fascinating new special event series Australia’s Most Identical

The recent viral sensation of twins Paula and Bridgette Powers, speaking in perfect unison in an interview about a carjacking, has captivated the nation and sparked a renewed fascination with the unique bond shared by identical siblings.

Nearly one in every 250 pregnancies in Australia results in identical twins, making them a valuable resource for our knowledge on genetics. But can some twins be more identical than others?

Over two big nights, Australia’s Most Identical seeks to answer this question by bringing together 100 sets of twins from diverse backgrounds and putting them through a fascinating series of tests and challenges, ranging from mind-boggling 3D facial scans, to tests of their creative capabilities, and more.

Hosted by Scott Cam and Dr Jana Pittman, both parents of fraternal twins, this unique series will see Australia’s most alike twins vie for the title of the nation’s most identical pair, showcasing their uncanny similarities, in the name of science and a bit of friendly competition.

From straightforward physical comparisons to complex intellectual and personality tests, we put identical twins under the microscope to offer contributions to the longstanding nature versus nurture debate and spark lively discussions in living rooms across the country.

Bringing a winning combination of medical knowledge and a sprinkle of British wit, popular identical twin doctors and TV presenters, Dr Xand and Dr Chris van Tulleken, will curate the challenges, while Australia’s leading “twin experts”, Professor Sarah Wilson and Professor Jeff Craig, will assist in analysing the results, in consultation with Twin Research Australia.

The ultimate decision, however, rests not in the hands of the experts or hosts, but with the initial 100 sets of twins who will cast their vote to crown their winning pair.

This captivating social investigation series will have viewers seeing a lot more than just double, with its great characters, their intriguing bonds and quirky co-dependencies demonstrating the reality of sharing your identity with another.

Prepare to explore this intriguing world even further with Australia’s Most Identical.

Australia’s Most Identical is produced by HELIUM for the 9Network. A Mentorn Media FORMAT distributed by Passion Distribution.

Parental Guidance returns for must-see event series

Over four landmark episodes, eight brand new families, with distinctive parenting methods, bravely tackle the most explosive issues parents are facing today: Screen Time, Peer Pressure, Body Image and Mental Health.

These critical topics will be unpacked under the guidance of Ally Langdon, renowned journalist and host of A Current Affair, and Dr Justin Coulson, one of Australia’s most trusted parenting experts, leading the conversations Australia needs to have.

The eight diverse sets of parents include parenting styles Traditional, Pro-Tech, Active, Up Front, Authoritative, The Hard Way, Life School and Positivity. They will focus on and be guided through each topic, undertake real-world and eye-opening challenges designed to help explore the issues and how to parent effectively through them.

Viewers then get a front-row seat in the Parent Lounge where Ally, Dr Coulson and the parents come together to debate the results and the various parenting approaches, as well as share controversial opinions and vote for the parents they’ve learnt from the most. Ultimately, they overcome their divisions to share the struggles and joys of parenthood.

To add further insight and discussion into these monumental issues, experts and inspirational guests will join the Parent Lounge to share their insights and deeply personal stories.

Each episode is packed with emotional stories and innovative strategies that offer insight, practical advice and relatable moments for parents across Australia.

Ally Langdon: “We are thrilled to bring Parental Guidance back to Australia for this special event series. The show resonates so deeply with audiences because it tackles the universal, yet very personal, journey of parenting. This four-part format allows us to focus on each specific topic in depth and the challenges faced by families today, giving viewers insight and reflection.”

Dr Justin Coulson: “Parenting is constantly evolving. This series continues to provide a unique opportunity to observe different parenting styles and methods in action and understand the reasoning behind them. It’s less about judgement and more about learning and understanding the diverse perspectives into navigating parenting in the modern world.” Parental Guidance is produced by Eureka Productions for the 9Network.
