Sydney University Tops 2019 BOSS MBA Rankings

The University of Sydney Business School is again home to the top-rated MBA program in Australia, topping the 2019 BOSS MBA ranking to repeat its success in 2017.

The Sydney institution has also claimed top position for its Executive MBA (EMBA) in the biennial ranking, the only domestic survey of Master of Business Administration programs in Australia.

There have been some big moves in the 2019 rankings. Adelaide Business School, Queensland University of Technology – Graduate School of Business and University of South Australia Business School jumped three places each, putting them into second, third and fourth place respectively. Four of the top 10 MBA courses are offered in Queensland.

“It is an outstanding result for the University of Sydney to top the MBA list in two consecutive surveys,” said BOSS Editor, Sally Patten. “And its EMBA has jumped two places into the number one spot.

“The improvement from the University of Adelaide, which has risen from fifth to second place, and the University of South Australia, up from seventh to fourth, is also worth noting, and suggests that their efforts to improve quality and engage more closely with students and alumni are bearing fruit.”

The BOSS MBA rankings are calculated using an alumni survey, including feedback on student satisfaction, improvement and value for money, and data provided by the business schools, including accreditations, qualifications of teaching staff, research output and staff with current or recent business experience.

The alumni survey accounts for 55 per cent of the final score, with the school questionnaire worth 45 per cent.

The 2019 survey was managed in partnership with market research agency GfK.
