On the Frontline with Emergency Heroes
Paramedics, a compelling documentary series offering unprecedented insight into the daily lives of emergency service heroes, premieres Thursday, October 4, at 8.30pm on Nine.
The series produced with the help of Ambulance Victoria features unrivalled access to paramedics, with vision captured from up to 60 cameras rigged in ambulances, helicopters and on motorbikes.
Narrated by acclaimed actor and philanthropist Samuel Johnson OAM, each episode tells the patients’ stories through the eyes of the dedicated paramedics.
Samuel Johnson OAM said: “This incredible series has been two years in the making and finally lifts the veil on the amazing work these heroes do in our community. With more than two million emergency calls made every year in Victoria, this show gives you a whole new appreciation for paramedics.”
In episode one, Taz and rookie Amanda face a life-and-death scenario where every second counts in treating a man who collapsed after leaving a sauna. Meanwhile Jamie and Mike deliver friendly first aid to a colourful character having a tough time.
Natalie and Leonard find a novel way to lift an elderly patient’s spirits, and Matt and his helicopter crew make an emergency flight to Shepparton to save a two-year-old girl who has fallen unconscious and stopped breathing.
Paramedics, a series of ten 60-minute episodes, is a WTFN production for Channel Nine with the help of Ambulance Victoria.
