The Million Dollar Chase Races Onto 9Gem
The world’s richest greyhound event is heading to Nine, as the TAB Million Dollar Chase races onto 9Gem next month.
Taking place at the iconic Wentworth Park at 9.00pm AEST on Friday, October 18th, this year marks the second annual iteration of the race. 14 regional centres have hosted heats and finals leading up to the big day where the final eight competitors will race for a massive $1 million in prizemoney, along with the Group 1 Sydney Cup.
Tony Mestrov, Chief Executive Officer of GRNSW said “The TAB Million Dollar Chase is the culmination of several years of hard work to reform our industry, led by our commitment to rehome every greyhound that races in NSW. The Greyhound as Pets program rehoused more than 700 dogs this year, and all proceeds from the MDC will go towards the program.”
Nine’s Director of Sport, Tom Malone, said “We’re excited to be broadcasting this new, and already iconic race, and support the NSW Government and Greyhound Racing NSW as they transform this industry to exceed community standards for animal welfare.”
Coverage will be led by Nine sports presenter Cameron Williams, alongside leading greyhound form experts James Van de Maat, Liz Whelan and Dave Carlson.
The TAB Million Dollar Chase takes place on Friday, October 18th at 9.00pm AEST on 9Gem and 9Now.
