The Financial Review is Australia’s fastest growing masthead and remains the nation’s most read business title
The Australian Financial Review has yet again recorded yearly growth, outpacing the national market with 4.2% growth and a readership of 3.5 million people across print and digital, according to Total News readership figures released by Roy Morgan today.
The country’s most read premium business masthead increased its year-on-year readership across Total News in the 12 months to June 2022, up from 3.3 million. Its nearest competitor, The Australian, dropped its Total News readership by 4% in the same period.
As trusted business news and analysis becomes more important than ever during turbulent economic times, the Financial Review continues to grow its premium subscriptions, attracting high net worth and influential readers. The masthead’s digital readership within Total News continues to expand faster than the industry, growing at 13.4% compared to the 3.1% market.
AFR Magazine continues to dominate Australia’s monthly magazine insert figures, recording quarterly and annual growth, with a print readership of 428,000. The magazine had particularly strong growth in the age bracket 25-54, up 11% year-on-year.
Nine’s Total Publishing assets reach a de-duplicated audience of 16 million* Australians across print and digital.
“The Financial Review continues to post solid readership and premium subscription growth even during a cost-of-living squeeze because we provide unique news and analysis essential to our business audience,” said the masthead’s editor-in-chief Michael Stutchbury.
