2GB ends the year as Sydney's definitive No.1

2GB 873 has ended 2022 on a high as the undisputed No.1 radio station in Sydney, with an audience share of 12.5 of People 10+ (up 0.9 on Survey 7). This is 2GB’s 146th consecutive survey win.

Ben Fordham is back on top in Breakfast, with a 15.7 share (up 0.9 points) and Ray Hadley continues his unbroken run as No. 1 in Mornings, also recording his 146th survey win with a 15.9 share (up 2.6 points).

Ben Fordham said: “It’s an early Christmas present for the hard working team at 2GB. We go the extra mile for our listeners and appreciate the loyalty. For the Breakfast show, we’re humbled to win the ratings year again, as we did last year. Don’t believe the spin from elsewhere, 2GB Breakfast is the number one show in Sydney. Merry Christmas to our wonderful listeners.”

2GB Content Manager, Luke Davis, said: “Right throughout 2022, Sydney has turned to 2GB in the moments that matter. It’s been another big news year, with a Federal election, floods, strikes, ongoing COVID concerns and cost-of-living pressures, as well as significant deaths that have touched our city, our country and the world. Talk Radio is as important as ever, and today’s results solidify that fact that 2GB remains an indelible part of the lives of Sydneysiders.”

Further highlights of GfK Survey 8 in Sydney were:

  • Afternoons with Deborah Knight recorded a share of 7.5 (Mon-Fri 12-3pm), up 0.2 points.
