After a six-year absence from free to-air TV, two of the world’s most popular and longest-running soaps, Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless, will return to Nine on Monday, September 9 on 9Gem. The shows will also be available on 9Now.
 
“Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.”  For half a century, those words have introduced and underscored one of the world’s most iconic soaps – and they will once again be heard when Days of our Lives returns to Nine, alongside the U.S.’s #1-rated daytime drama for the past 30 years, The Young and the Restless.
 
Set in Salem, a fictitious town in America’s Midwest, Days of our Lives follows the romances, mysteries and dramas of the Brady, Horton and DiMera families, while The Young and the Restless revolves around the rivalries, romances, hopes and fears of the residents of the fictional Midwestern metropolis, Genoa City.
 
Viewers can catch up on all the drama in both series with the best of what you missed from this Saturday on 9Now, with five key episodes from each one revealing everything you need to know, before episodes go to air from Monday, September 9, new to 9Gem and 9Now.
 
Nine’s Program Director, Hamish Turner, said: “Both The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives were a huge part of Nine’s daytime heritage for over 31 and 45 years respectively, and we’re excited to be bringing back the drama.”
