The NBL Arrives on Nine This Weekend with a Slam Dunk
The National Basketball League 2018/2019 season has tipped off, with a game broadcast live on 9Go! and 9Now every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and EVERY game from the season available for free viewing on 9Now following their conclusion.
Under the new partnership between Nine and the NBL, Sydney Kings vs Adelaide 36ers will be the first game broadcast on 9Go! this Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm AEDT, featuring the highly-anticipated Kings debut of former NBA champion and number one draft pick Andrew Bogut, one of several NBA superstars making his debut in the NBL this season.
The Hungry Jack’s 2018/2019 season will be the biggest yet for the longest-running team-based sporting league in Australia, building upon the last record-breaking season which featured the largest crowd attendances in NBL history, and a nail-biting finals series win for Melbourne United over Adelaide 36ers.
All games on Nine will be hosted by Nine talent from the state where the game is located, including Seb Costello, Sam Squires, Rob Canning, Alison Ariotti and Warren Tredrea.
With a record number of Australian players overseas competing in the NBA, and participation rates of the sport in Australia currently sitting at over a million registered players, interest in basketball is currently at an all-time high.
Attracting high-calibre players from all around the world, and following a successful pre-season against top-tier NBA clubs, the NBL is now considered the premier basketball league in the world outside of the NBA.
Viewers can tune in to the NBL every Saturday and Sunday live on 9Go!, and live or on demand on 9Now.
