AFR BOSS names winners of 2022 BOSS Young Executives Awards

Six of Australia’s emerging business leaders have been revealed, with AFR BOSS naming the 2022 BOSS Young Executives.

Now in its 19th year and run in conjunction with global leadership consulting firm Development Dimensions International (DDI), the recipients are all under the age of 35 and have been chosen for their strong leadership, business aptitude and emotional intelligence.

Set against the backdrop of a 12-month period characterised by the gradual easing of COVID-19 restrictions and a crippling talent shortage, the judging process – including interviews and a CEO-for-a-day simulation exercise – was hosted virtually. Award recipients from NSW and Victoria assembled in Sydney for an in-person ceremony.

The six 2022 BOSS Young Executives, who are profiled on afr.com and are featured in today’s The Australian Financial Review are:

·        Amy Goldenberg, Head of e-Mobility, Ampol Limited

·        Martin Curtis, Head of Google Partners, Google

·        Matt Freeman, former Chief Financial Officer of AWN

·        Dalton Fogarty, Head of Strategy, Prezzee

·        Jesse Arundell, Head of Emerging Technology, Commonwealth Bank of Australia

·        Yash Sodhi, Chief Financial Officer, Funds Management, Challenger Limited

BOSS Editor Sally Patten, said: “Increasingly the BOSS Young Executives are breaking new ground. Working at the frontier of new business models, they are constantly experimenting, learning and recalibrating in an effort to meet customer needs. They have shown themselves to be remarkably resilient and adaptable.”

Dominique Powrie, managing director of DDI, said: “This year’s cohort of accomplished, impressive and business-savvy young leaders inspire confidence in our future. They’ve shown through maturity, customer orientation and community mindedness just how the next generation can rise up to meet the challenges of a forever-changed business landscape with confidence and vision for a better future.”

The judges were Nerida Caesar, a director of Westpac, Bonnie Boezeman, managing director of marketing consultancy Business Benefits International and Michael Rebelo, CEO of Publicis Groupe in Australia and New Zealand.
