The 9Network’s Paris 2024 hosting team says bonjour to Nine’s Olympic Games broadcast
The 9Network’s Olympic Games hosting team has officially said bonjour to Paris, with all eight hosts today getting their first taste of Nine’s state-of-the-art studio at the famed Trocadero opposite the Eiffel Tower.
The hosting team of Allison Langdon, James Bracey, Todd Woodbridge, Leila McKinnon, Dylan Alcott, Eddie McGuire, Sarah Abo and Karl Stefanovic will call the Trocadero home as they guide viewers through two weeks of Olympic competition on Australia’s Home of the Olympics, the 9Network.
With sweeping views of one of the world’s most iconic structures, the studio uses extended reality technology never before seen in Australian broadcasting, to utilise graphics and create a full 360 degree interactive and immersive environment.
Nine’s Director of Sport, Brent Williams, said: “The Olympic Games Paris 2024 is the biggest production undertaking in the history of Nine.”
“A world class team of hosts, experts and behind the scenes production crew will work around the clock to bring our coverage to life from all parts of the globe, including Paris, Marseille, Nice, Tahiti and back home in Sydney.
“Across Nine’s suite of platforms, all of Australia will be able to watch, listen, stream and read about every moment and every unforgettable memory from what promises to be a truly magical Olympic Games.”
Hosts Ally Langdon and James Bracey will be steering primetime coverage from 7.00pm to 1.00am once the Games begin this Saturday (July 27).
“Paris is absolutely buzzing; you can feel the excitement in the air and with some of the most incredible venues an Olympic Games has ever seen, like Beach Volleyball under the Eiffel Tower, we can’t wait to this Friday’s Opening Ceremony and to share the stories of the world’s greatest athletic feats,” said Langdon.
Bracey said: “Our athletes are about to step into an enormous spotlight, having dreamt and worked their entire lives for this moment. During Paris 2024, we will take viewers on the journey with them, and dig deep into uncovering the incredible stories behind them.
“As they approach the final hurdle to realising their Olympic dream, we will be there every step of the way to witness what unfolds.”
Officially marking the beginning of Nine’s Paris 2024 coverage, special preview show Let The Games Begin, airing this Wednesday, July 24 at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
As the Australian athletes prepare to take on the world, Let The Games Begin will feature our Olympic hosts and a who’s who of sporting and expert greats in a comprehensive preview of Paris 2024. Including live crosses to athletes in the Athletes Village, as well as the announcement of the Australian team Opening Ceremony flag bearers.
The Opening Ceremony, from 3.00am AEST Saturday (July 27), will be hosted by Sarah Abo, James Bracey and Dylan Alcott, with Ally Langdon, Karl Stefanovic and Todd Woodbridge Opening Ceremony narrators.
