Sydney’s 2GB and Melbourne’s 3AW win the ratings – Nine Radio on top in live streaming

Nine’s talk stations 2GB and 3AW are No.1 across Sydney and Melbourne, with audience growth at 4BC and 6PR, as listeners turn to talk for the big moments and breaking news in their city.
Breakfast with Ross and Russ took the crown in Melbourne with a 18.6 share, and Tom Elliott followed form in Mornings with 16.7.
In Sydney, Ben Fordham Live was the number one Breakfast talk show with a 14.9 share, and Ray Hadley took out his 156th consecutive win in Mornings with 13.5.
Nine Radio’s Head of Content, Greg Byrnes, said: “The events of this week have highlighted the role talk radio plays in people’s lives. On Saturday, as people sought fast and accurate information around the unfolding events in Bondi Junction, the 2GB audience spiked by 40 percent.
“Talk content is relentless but our listeners know they can trust us. That’s the reason 2GB and 3AW are the clear number one in their markets, and it’s why more and more listeners are tuning to 4BC and 6PR. We don’t take the responsibility lightly and thank our audience for its loyalty.”

STREAMING
Nine Radio is the number one destination for live audio listeners, with an overall share of 36.5 (up 3.0) and a commercial streaming share of 28.2 in Gfk Survey 2, with particularly dominant numbers in Breakfast and Mornings.
2GB and 3AW are No.1 in overall commercial streaming, with a 30.5 and 27.6 commercial share respectively, as well as across all main standard sessions.
Ross and Russ recorded an incredible 47.0 commercial streaming share in Breakfast on 3AW, and Ben Fordham was also miles ahead of the competition with a commercial streaming share of 36.9 (up 1.5).
Mornings at 2GB and 3AW also recorded a No.1 commercial streaming share with 34.2 for Ray Hadley and 28.2 for Tom Elliott, respectively.

PODCASTS
The Nine Podcast Network reached over 1.26 million listeners (up 9% MoM) and 3.3 million downloads (up 13% MoM) in March, as daily podcast listenership continues to grow.
With footy season back, fans are flocking to Nine for the very best coverage of all the action – both on and off the field. Listership across Nine Radio’s football podcasts has skyrocketed in March, with 3AW Football reaching over 54,000 listeners (+56% YoY) and 144,000 downloads, and the Continuous Call Team reaching 17,000 listeners (+6% YoY) and 43,000 downloads.
Further highlights include 2GB’s Ben Fordham Live jumping 8 spots in the Australian Podcast Ranker to number 33 with 155,000 listeners and over 308,000 downloads, and The Ray Hadley Morning Show reaching 58,000 listeners and 138,000 downloads. On 3AW Mornings with Tom Elliott reached 45,000 listeners and 133,000 downloads, while Breakfast with Ross and Russ reached 38,000 listeners and 110,000 downloads.
