Future Women Presents first Executive Summit this Monday

Future Women is bringing business leaders, entrepreneurs, feminists and change makers together on Monday to discuss issues around gender equality and balance in the workplace.

In the first event of its kind, the Future Women Executive Summit will address the issues around why Australian women make up less than 30 per cent of ASX200 board positions, and what can be done about the gender pay gap.

Dr Kerryn Phelps, the Federal Member for Wentworth, will open the two-day event on Monday morning with a keynote speech on the role of strong female role models and how they can empower women to strive for the top jobs.

Dr Kerryn Phelps, Tammy Barton and Sarah Moran will all be speaking at the Future Women Executive Summit

The two-day conference, which is a partnership between Future Women and Informa Events, will dive deep into the rise of female entrepreneurs, personal branding and crisis brand management, as well as pathways to the executive suite.

MyBudget Founder and Director, Tammy Barton, will make a presentation on the value of women founders, looking at why they are a better investment, the differences between men and women’s leadership approach, and how you can promote and support other women.

Other speakers include Google AU/NZ Head of Hardware Marketing, Zoe Hayes; Microsoft Australia Head of Talent Acquisition, Lynn Dang; Girl Geek Academy CEO and Co-Founder, Sarah Moran; The Squiz Founder, Claire Kimball; Newgate Communications Partner, Greg Baxter; and Atlassian Global Head of Diversity & Belonging, Aubrey Blanche.

Nine’s Director of People and Culture, Vanessa Morley, will be the morning chair on day one, while Nine’s Digital Content Director and Founder of Future Women, Helen McCabe, will deliver the opening remarks. Future Women editor, Emily Brooks, and Future Women Senior Writer, Angela Ledgerwood, will be chairing day two of the summit.

“Future Women has always been a place to discuss problems women face across education and their careers, to help find the best solutions,” McCabe said. “The executive summit is about bringing our members together along with the best of the best examples of women breaking through the glass ceiling to deep-dive into these pertinent topics.”

The full agenda and tickets are available online.
