THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, AT 8.40PM ON CHANNEL 9 AND 9NOW

Paramedics, the hit observational documentary series, returns to Channel 9 and 9Now on Thursday, October 8, at 8.40pm, taking viewers behind the scenes with emergency ambulance crews and critical care teams as they respond to Australians at the most challenging times of their lives. 

For the first time in the show’s history, Paramedics heads to Western Australia for an unprecedented and unguarded look at the life-and-death realities faced by St John WA crews on the Perth frontline.  

From critical callouts and high-pressure emergencies to quiet moments of care, unexpected humour and the human connection that follows, the series captures the dedication, empathy and composure of the first responders who step up when help is needed most. 

The season premiere wastes no time plunging viewers into the action, as Critical Care Paramedics Wishy and Josh fear the worst for an elderly man with severe head injuries after a tree chopping attempt goes horribly wrong. 

Elsewhere, St John WA’s oldest “rookie”, Ven, is tasked with delivering tough news to a football player following a horror tackle, while Michael and Kieran race to a suspected heart attack on a busy freeway. 

Amid the intensity there are also lighter moments, like Dimi and Ven bringing some levity to a flirty woman who takes a tumble after a few celebratory drinks. Conversely though, Rhi and James must fight to save the life of a toddler struggling to breathe. 

Through every callout, Paramedics shines a light on the people behind the uniforms, revealing the skill, compassion and resilience required to face the unpredictable realities of life on the frontline.
