More Than 10 Million Viewers Tune Into The 2018 Gillette ODI Series
A total of 10,479,913 unique viewers across Australia tuned into the five games of The 2018 Gillette One Day International Series between Australia and England, which saw England win the series 4-1. This marked a competitive turnaround from the team after their 4-0 Ashes defeat at the hands of a dominant Australian side.
Across the five metropolitan capital cities, the cumulative reach across the five matches of the ODI series (ie: the total number of individuals who watched any part of any day’s play) was 7.391 million, representing 43 per cent of the metropolitan population.
In regional Australia, the cumulative reach across the five days was 3.088 million, representing 39.5 per cent of the regional population.
The highest-rating session across the five matches was the second session of play at the MCG during Game 1 (Sunday, January 14), which secured a peak audience of 2.222 million viewers, with an average of 1.794 million viewers. It saw England get the win on the back of Jason Roy’s magnificent 180 runs, despite Aaron Finch’s defiant century for Australia.
Each of the second sessions of play achieved an average national audience of 1.441 million across the five matches.
Each of the first sessions of play achieved an average national audience of 1.247 million across the five matches.
